  Spence Media, a division of Spence Publishing Company, delivers comprehensive radio and television publicity—at a fair price—to publishers, authors, and organizations. 

In the course of our ten years in publishing, we have developed the most aggressive and effective book publicity we know of. We now offer clients the same vigorous and skillful media promotion that has led to success for our own books. Our performance equals or exceeds that of publicists whose fees are far higher than ours.

During the frontlist promotion of their books, our authors give a median of 156 radio and television interviews, 20 to 25 percent of which are broadcast nationally. Half of their interviews take place either on a nationally-broadcast show or in a top 25 Arbitron radio market. Authors of active backlist titles do a median of 40 interviews a year.

Director

Thomas Spence

Thomas Spence is president and publisher of Spence Publishing and a director of Spence Media. After graduating from Dartmouth College, he earned a law degree from the University of Chicago and a master’s in history from Harvard. He was editor in chief at WRS Publishing before founding Spence Publishing in 1996.

He has been featured in Publishers Weekly, the Boston Globe, the Dartmouth Review, Insight, and the Washington Times and has written for the Dallas Morning News and the American Enterprise.
