Steven Vincent (1955-2005) was a freelance investigative journalist and art critic. His work appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Harper's, the Christian Science Monitor, Art & Auction, National Review Online, and other art and political journals. Before his murder in Basra, Iraq, on August 2, 2005, he was at work on a history of the city of Basra. His blog on Iraq is In the Red Zone.
